This is the privacy policy for ApplianceConversion.com. I’ll keep it as plain as I can — no dense legal walls of text where I can help it. It explains what information this site collects, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email me at applianceconversion@gmail.com and I’ll explain.

The short version
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. When you convert a recipe, that information stays on your device — I never see it and it’s never sent to a server. The data that is collected comes from the normal third-party services most websites use: Google Analytics (to understand traffic), Google AdSense (to show ads), and the comments section if you choose to leave a comment. Details below.

Information the calculators collect: none
This is worth saying clearly. The conversion tools work right inside your browser. The numbers you type in — times, temperatures, weights — are not transmitted to me or stored on any server. Some tools may save your recent conversions or preferences in your own browser’s local storage so the tool remembers them on your next visit, but that information stays on your device and I have no access to it. You can clear it any time through your browser settings.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, this site uses tools that collect some information automatically when you visit.
Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — which tools are popular, how visitors find the site, and where things could be improved. It collects standard, mostly anonymous data such as your approximate location (usually city or region, not your exact address), the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and the site you came from. I use this in aggregate to make the site better; I’m not trying to identify you personally. You can learn how Google handles this data at Google’s Privacy Policy, and you can opt out site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Log data and cookies. Standard web server logs and cookies may record information like your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. Cookies are small files stored in your browser. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may work differently if you do.
Cookie consent. Where required by law, the site will ask for your consent before non-essential cookies (such as those used for ads and analytics) are set, through a cookie notice. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that notice or your browser settings.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site uses (or intends to use) Google AdSense to display ads that help cover the cost of running it. Whether or not ads are currently showing, here’s what you should know about how AdSense works, so this policy is complete and transparent:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.

Comments
If you leave a comment on the site, the comment system collects the information shown in the comment form (such as your name and email address) and may also collect your IP address and browser information to help with spam detection. Your email address is not published or shared; it’s used to manage comments. If you’d like a comment or the data associated with it removed, email me and I’ll take care of it.
Affiliate links
Some pages on this site may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links may set their own cookies through the retailer’s or affiliate network’s systems, which operate under their own privacy policies, not mine. I only link to products I think are genuinely relevant, and affiliate relationships never change the conversion math or the guidance on this site.
How your information is used
The limited information collected is used to:

Beyond ads and affiliate links, this site links out to other websites (like the cooking sources I cite). I’m not responsible for the privacy practices of those other sites, so it’s worth reading their policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site grows or as the tools it uses change. When I do, I’ll update the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected here, so it’s worth checking back occasionally.
